Comet

Our most memorable day this week was on Friday when we said goodbye to one of our beloved teachers who have spent several years nurturing and playing with our kids. We have so many fond memories of her that we will remember always.

今週の金曜日は、数年間一緒に過ごし、お世話になった大好きな先生とのお別れの日でした。　先生とのたくさんの思い出、ずっとずっと忘れないよ♡

We also said goodbye to two of our short-term, special friends as well. It was fun getting to know them both these last two short weeks and we wish them well as they return home.

今週は、保育園留学のお友達とのお別れもありました。　２週間という短い期間ではありますが、お互いのことを知って、楽しく過ごせました。気を付けてお家に帰ってね！また待っているよ^^

The kids worked hard on a special Fathers’ Day present! We told everyone to say “I love you!” to both Dad and Mom for all their love an support.

父の日のプレゼント製作を頑張りました！　お父さん、それからお母さんに「I love you！」と伝えられたかな？　いつも愛あるサポートをありがとうございます♡

This week, we practiced writing the letter D and singing our D sound song. We also have had a lot of fun talking about things we like and dislike as we sing the song, “Do you like Spaghetti?” (Sorry, no photos!)

今週のライティングは、「D」の書き方の練習と、「D sound song」という歌を歌いました♪　「Do you like Spaghetti?」という楽しい曲に合わせて、自分たちが好きなもの、嫌いなものについて話しました。とっても盛り上がりました！

We went to Zukudase Farm for the first time this year, and the kids loved it!

新年度になり、初めて「ずくだせ農場」に遊びに行きました。コメットクラスは初めてでしたが、みんな大喜びでした！

Rocket

Rocket continued their studies of “jump out words,” which are simple sight words. They can spell and say these important words. Here are a couple students practicing to recognize and write the words! Teachers love to see the students practicing things like this on their own.

ロケットクラスは、「jump out words」と呼ばれる簡単なサイトワード学習（目で見て瞬時にわかる単語「重要単語」the,and,youなど)に取り組んでいます。ふと覗いてみると、これらの単語をホワイトボードに自分で書いてみたり、アルファベットのマグネットを使って単語を作ってみたりしているお友達がたくさんいます！先生たちは、みんなが自主的にこうしたことを練習しているのを見ると嬉しくなります^^

Music class was a blast as always. We wore these colored shawls to simulate a “raincoat,” and did a chant to the rhythm with sticks, to simulate being snails.

音楽の授業はいつも楽しいことが盛りだくさん♪みんなで「レインコート」を模したショールを身に着けて音に合わせて体を動かしてみたり、スティックでカタツムリをイメージし、リズムに合わせてチャントを行いました！

We continued our studies of family units. Here is Ms. Shinobu showing a family interview sheet, and some students’ work on a project where they traced their hands, drew their family, and traced “I love you.” The paper folds as if they’re hugging their family. It’s a cute and clever craft which the kids enjoyed.

家族の学習を続けました。みんなの家族に「家族の役割」について、それぞれインタビューをしてきてもらいました。発表が楽しみです☆　そして、ロケットクラスでは、「Family day」という日を作り、クラフト製作を進めていきました。自分の手形を取り、台紙に「I love you」を書き、家族の絵を描きました。みんなの手形は家族をハグしているように作りました。かわいらしくて賢い工作プロジェクトです！
