Commencement Ceremony (2022.04.04)
ISN Preschool Ueda’s Comet Class kicked off its joyous commencement ceremony with the gracious support from the parents and their children who will join us this school year. Mr. Jon and Ms. Maiko were introduced as this year’s teachers, with Ms. Misuzu playing an essential supporting roll. We are looking forward to a great year of learning and fun!

入園式（2022.04.04）
ISN プレスクール上田のコメットクラス（3歳児クラス）は、今年度入園する子どもたちと、またその保護者の方たちからの温かなサポートを受けながら、とても楽しい雰囲気の入園式で幕を開けました。 今年度の担任としてMr. JonとMs. Maikoが、また重要なサポート役としてMs. Misuzuが紹介されました。 スタッフ一同、学びあり楽しみありの素晴らしい年になることを楽しみにしています！

UOI 1: My Roles at School

We started the school year off with “Who We Are” as the first Transdisciplinary Theme. Our Central Idea focuses on the topic “Knowing About Ourselves and Our School Community Help Us to Be Independent.” In April, we only focused on the first Line of Inquiry (“LOI”), “My Roles at School.”

ユニット 1: スクールでの自分の役割

今年度のUOIレッスンは、初めの教科の枠を超えたテーマ（Transdisciplinary Theme）である、”私たちは誰なのか”（”Who We Are”)から始まりました。私たちの中心的アイディア（Central Idea)は”自分自身とスクールコミュニティについて知ることは、自立することに役立つ”（”Knowing About Ourselves and Our School Community Help Us to Be Independent” ）です。４月は、私たちの初めの探求の流れ（Line of Inquiry、略して”LOI”）である、LOI1:”スクールでの自分の役割”（”My Roles at School”）にフォーカスを当てて学習しました。

Three times a week, we focused on teaching the students about the meaning and importance of roles and responsibilities at school using games, storytelling, puppets, and role plays. The topics taught included how to clean up after lunch time, listen to the teacher, brush teeth, and how to fix an inside-out shirt after bedtime, among other lessons.

週に3回あるUOIレッスンでは、ゲームやお話（絵本）、パペット、ロールプレイなどを用いて、スクールでの役割と責任の意味とその重要性について、子どもたちに伝えることに焦点を当てました。 レッスンの内容としては、昼食後の片付け方法、先生の話を聞く方法、歯を磨く方法、就寝後に裏返しのシャツ（洋服）を直す方法など様々なことを学びました。

After the conclusion of Golden Week, we also ended the LOI 1 with a special presentation by each student about the specific roles they have at school and home. (A big thank you to all the parents who sent us photos to help make the presentations a success!)

ゴールデンウィーク終了後は、子どもたちがスクールや家での役割について、一人一人プレゼンテーションを行い、LOI1を終了しました。 （保護者の方々、プレゼンテーションのために写真を送ってくださり、本当にありがとうございました！）

Comet Class has been working hard to be as independent as possible, and we are very proud of everyone!

コメットクラスの子どもたちは、一人ひとりが可能な限りの自立を目指し、一生懸命に取り組んでいます。スタッフ一同、そんな子どもたちをとても誇りに思っています！
